Folder List

Recorded TV Manager 4.1

The Folder List is a list that you define of all the folders on the network which contain Media Center recorded television files, either *.wtv or *.dvr-ms.

You use the Folder List Editor to create and modify this list.  Start the Folder List Editor from the Tools menu.

Properties  Click to open the Folder Properties dialog for the selected folder.

Properties

Nickname - as in "Channel 80" above.  This is the name of the folder as it will be referred to within Recorded TV Manager, both the user interface and Collection Rules.

Note: 1/31/2014 Do not use accented characters in the Nickname string.

Location - This is the network address of the shared folder.  See the Installation Instructions here for more information on sharing files.

Contains - Number of recordings at that location (dvr-ms and wtv).

Media Center Folder - Check this item if the folder is a Media Center recorded TV folder on a computer with a tuner(s).  These are the sources of new recordings.  The SmartMove software ignores this property, it is used for display purposes in the user interface only.

Read Only - In the user interface, the software enforces certain restrictions on folders marked as Read Only.  You cannot delete Read Only folders and you cannot move recordings to other locations, you can only copy from the Read Only folder.  The SmartMove software ignores this property.

Note that removing a folder from the Folder List ONLY removes the reference from the Folder List.  The folder contents are not affected in any way.
